1926 Henry Built Ford Roadster, Soon to be Kaven Built.
The Story of the find
I just got a 26 T roadster over the weekend form some guy in my hometown. The story was told to me about a Father bought this roadster for his son in Feb 1955 from a guy in Fremont Ne. The car was to be a graduation gift. The boy graduated 3 month later. The day after the boy graduated he was to drive the car from Nebraska to Indianapolis. As the story go’s he was hit by another car from behind the impact throw the boy from the roadster, this happened somewhere in Iowa. The boy died from the accident.
So as the story go’s the father left Nebraska and headed to Iowa, he brought a trailer to load the car on the on. The car ended up back in Nebraska were it was kept. The car sat from that day in 1955 on a trailer in woods on the farm. When the Father passed away in the year 2008 some of the family members wanted the car stuff to go to the right people…”people that would do the right thing with it”.
The story continues on with the boy having this car, he was able to run it up and down the streets of the neighboring towns "hot rodding it". People today still were talking about it when they would hear about the car. Some people in town knew about this car since 1955 and have been trying to buy it from the Father of the boy since the early 1960’s
The roadster is all stock for the most part. It still has the T 4cyl..but it has the ohv’s head and a down draft carburetor and the cast iron header. It still has the T Trans and rear end. The motor is lockup at this point so I’m working on that now..trying to free up and take the motor apart as I go.

Come to find out the Head is a old Frontenac 8 valve head that the Chevrolet Bros designed and it also have a 2 speed Ruckstell rearend.
This is the OHV Frontenac head that was run on the car back in the 40s -50s. We will rework the head to get it back in shape at some point. See the attachment file below for details on the head.
I also found out they are repoped the valve cover for this head check out the link for more info: http://www.modeltford.com/item/VC-F.aspx
